I am literally giddy. I have been anxiously awaiting Fleet Foxes‘ followup to their eponymous 2008 masterpiece it seems like for ages. The airy harmonies of Pecknold and introspective lyrics touch me in a way little music can. It feels so effortless and so right; as if their music was not as much written as remembered.
I’ve been listening to this title track on repeat all day, and each listen brings me a new layer of wonder. If this is any indicator to the rest of the album, I’ll greet the openers at my local record store May 3 and cartwheel myself back to the vinyl room.
